The Bailout Earmarks that Boustany Voted For

When Charles Boustany tells you he is against earmarks, don't believe a word of it. It all depends on who's asking for the earmarks. Today, when Charles Boustany voted FOR the $700 Billion of your dollars, he also voted for $150 Billion in earmarks which includes the following gems:

$223 million for Alaskan fishermen
$192 million for rum producers in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands
$128 million for auto racing
$2 million for producers of children’s wooden arrows.
$10 Million to employers to help buying and maintaining employee's bicycles.
$478 Million to the movie industry.
$100 Million to motor sports racetrack owners.
$148 Million to wool fabric makers and clothing manufacturers.
$49 million to plaintiffs who won damages from Exxon Mobile for the oil spilled by the Exxon Valdez.
Replacing the revenue sale of federal forest land for even more taxes to the tune of $3.3 billion.
Extension of economic development credit for American Samoa for $33 million.

Apparently, Charles Boustany doesn't feel that $700 Billion dollars alone was enough. He believes we should pay an additional $150 Billion for earmarks, while refusing smaller earmarks for local programs and projects. Apparently, it all depends on who's asking for the handouts. Charles Boustany should be ashamed of himself. It's no wonder he's refusing to participate in televised debates.

On November 4th, remember what this nation could have done with the now over $1 Trillion dollar bailouts and over $150 Billion dollar earmarks that Boustany says he is against, but voted for.
